How the Final Price Is Set
- We inspect the door and find the cause.
- We explain which parts are needed.
- We give you one price for the job.
- You decide. Work starts only after you agree.
What Each Starting Price Covers
A starting price is the lowest figure for that job on a standard door. Here is what each line includes and what can move it up.
Spring replacement, from $150 per spring
One new spring sized to your door, fitted and adjusted until the door holds its own weight. The final figure depends on the spring type (torsion above the opening or extension springs along the sides), the wire size and length, and whether both springs should be changed together. See spring repair.
Cable replacement, from $150 per cable
One new lift cable, wound onto its drum and set to the right tension. The price moves with door height, the drum type, and whether the drum or the bottom bracket is also rusted or bent. Cables are normally changed on both sides at once so the door lifts level. See cable repair.
Roller replacement, from $120 per set
A full set of new rollers, swapped one hinge at a time so the door stays in its track. What changes it: nylon or steel rollers, sealed or open bearings, the number of sections, and any cracked hinges found on the way. Near the harbor, rusty bearings are a common reason to change a set.
Track work and off-track doors, from $150 per door
Straightening or re-setting the rails, tightening loose brackets, and guiding the rollers back into place. The total depends on how far the door came out, whether a rail is bent past saving, and whether cables or rollers were damaged when it jumped. See track repair.
Opener repair, quoted on site
Openers differ by brand, model and drive type, so we test the unit before we name a price. Typical fixes are a misaligned safety eye, a worn drive gear, a failed logic board or travel limits that need resetting. If the repair would cost close to a new unit, we say so. See opener repair.
Panel replacement, quoted on site
The price depends on the door maker, model, size and color, and on whether that section is still made. We measure the damaged section and read the label on the door before quoting. If the section is no longer available, we price a new door so you can compare. See panel replacement.
Diagnostic service call, $0 with a completed repair
This is the visit itself: the check of the whole door and the price for the repair it needs. When you approve that repair and we finish it, the diagnostic costs you nothing. You always hear the price before the work, never after.
New doors and new openers are not on the list, because size, style and drive type vary so much. We measure and quote them at your home. See new door installation and opener installation.
